American song contest - NBC

tv broadcast

ontext

This project involved creating dynamic broadcast content for NBC’s American Song Contest, working as part of a global creative team across multiple live performance segments.

I was responsible for developing visual content for three individual artists, designing motion-led visuals for use across stage screens, arena displays, and broadcast environments.

Each piece needed to reflect the tone and identity of the individual songs while functioning within a fast-paced live television production.

Approach

For each artist, I developed tailored visual systems designed to complement their performance and enhance the emotional and sonic qualities of their music.

One direction explored ink and oil-inspired fluid simulations using advanced 3D techniques, developed through an R&D process to test how abstract motion could respond to musical energy.

Through iteration and testing, it became clear that a hybrid approach combining footage and motion design delivered stronger impact and clarity within the live broadcast context.

The final visuals were refined to ensure maximum readability, energy, and performance integration across large-scale screens and broadcast framing.

Result

The final deliverables contributed to a multi-artist broadcast experience that elevated each performance through bespoke motion design environments.

The work balanced experimentation with practical broadcast constraints, resulting in visually distinctive stage content that supported both the live experience and televised presentation.
